It featured the first US team to compete abroad, and was won at 49 mph by Belgian 'Red Devil' Camille Jenatzy. James Joyce featured the event in his After the Race story in Dubliners.The world land speed record was broken in the supporting Phoenix Park Speed Trials at 84 mph
